Why Join?

Join the Salish Sea Renewable Energy Co-op (SSREC*) to be part of a grass-roots community effort to support generation of renewable clean energy in the Gulf Islands of British Columbia.

Co-op members are able to participate in group purchases of solar equipment and installation services for their homes, and to receive a discount on the price of their home solar installation as a result of aggregating orders from many members.

Another initiative over the longer run is to build one or more community “solar gardens”.

Join us to be part of speaking out about the importance of transitioning to a low-carbon renewable energy future, and advocating with government in support of policies to move toward that future sooner rather than later.

Join us to learn more about the exciting possibilities of a low-carbon future, and to support sharing this information with others.

*Affectionately known as “Shrek”

How to Join

  1. Review the Co-op’s Memorandum of Association [PDF] and the Rules of the Co-op [PDF].
  2. Download, print and complete the Membership Application form [PDF].
  3. Pay the membership fee of $100:
    1. By cheque payable to “Salish Sea Renewable Energy Co-op”.
    2. By INTERAC e-Transfer to: ssrecinfo@gmail.com.
  4. Mail your application (and cheque, if applicable) to:

Once approved, a Membership Share Certificate will be mailed back to you.
